With the volume of traffic and density of people in New York City, accidents are simply a reality of life. Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists alike must take care to stay safe in order to prevent accidents and personal injuries to themselves and to others. While many accidents are minor and do not result in any injuries, many times people do get hurt and require medical treatment.
Recently, a taxi accident in Midtown sent two people to a local hospital for injuries sustained as a result of the crash. Two taxi cabs hit each other, apparently after one of the taxi cabs ran a red light. The collision sent one of the cabs onto a nearby sidewalk. The cab hit a pole and a man that was standing on the sidewalk with his wife and children. The pedestrian and one of the cab drivers were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. The wife and children were not injured in the accident.
Taxi accidents on New York City streets, like any car accidents or bicycle accidents, must be taken seriously. This latest incident is being investigated further by law enforcement authorities. The accident occurred in the late afternoon on a weekday.
In the event that you are injured in an accident, it can be wise to speak to a personal injury attorney. Learning your rights can be the best way to protect yourself and receive the compensation that you may deserve, including payment for your medical expenses and more.
