Eight people, including a young baby, have been injured in a horrific car crash in Queens, according to sources local to the scene. New York rescue personnel rushed to intervene in the car accident, which involved multiple vehicles and left the infant clinging to life. Very little information about the cause of this crash is available as of this writing.
The accident report says the crash occurred sometime in the evening of March 29 in Cambria Heights. The accident scene was attended by rescue personnel as well as the New York Fire Department. All eight individuals were extracted from their vehicles and rushed to a nearby out-of state hospital.
Three of the adult victims were listed as being in serious but stable condition upon arrival at the hospital. The other four apparently suffered only minor injuries. However, the baby is in critical condition as of this writing. It is unknown which of the injured parties, if any, were related to the child, and which of the adults were driving vehicles involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and so far police have not filed any formal charges against anyone involved in the accident.
The investigation by New York authorities will continue until a satisfactory reason for the car accident has been uncovered. If it becomes clear that one or more of the drivers involved played a precipitous role in the accident, those individuals may find themselves facing criminal charges. Regardless, the injured people and/or their representatives will be entitled to file personal injury suits against drivers deemed responsible, provided there is sufficient evidence of negligence or other wrongdoing on the part of those parties.
