Many people that have been through it themselves can attest to the fact that a serious accident can happen in an instant. Often times, individuals might not even be aware of what happened and why, and it may not be until an official investigation is conducted that the offender is held responsible for their actions. And in the case of New York bicycle accidents, sometimes an exact cause is never determined. A tragic bicycle accident that occurred recently illustrates how difficult the investigatory process can be to understand what happened and why.
The fatal incident happened recently in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; though investigators were still in the process of collecting and reviewing evidence since any eyewitnesses had yet to be identified. According to reports, the body of the bicycle accident victim was discovered on the ground in an intersection in the early hours of a weekday morning. The identity of the accident victim has been determined, and investigators with the city’s homicide unit were asking that anyone with information about the victim or the accident come forward.
The homicide unit was involved in the investigation to determine how and why the bicyclist sustained fatal injuries. While bike accidents often involve other vehicles on the road, investigators claimed that they could not yet rule out an attack or other kind of accident.
Even though the cause of the accident was not yet known, medical professionals were allegedly able to confirm that the victim did die from the injuries he sustained in the incident.
Given that the accident victim did not survive, investigators may have a difficult time determining how and why the incident occurred. Furthermore, they may not be able to confirm who, if anyone, else may have contributed to the fatal event.
