Car accident involving limo kills 4 in New York

A horrific crash on Long Island ended in the deaths of four women, according to local news sources. New York authorities responded to the serious car accident that also sent four more individuals to local hospitals with serious injuries. A drunk driver is being blamed for causing the crash, but the investigation is still underway. 

According to the arrest record, a limousine carrying eight women and one male driver was headed away from a vineyard when the driver of the limo attempted to navigate a U-turn. At the same time, a pickup truck headed the other direction struck the limo with such force it nearly tore the other vehicle in two. The driver of the limo was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital.

Four of the eight female passengers in the limo were killed, and two others are still in serious condition. The driver of the pickup truck was judged to be drunk after police caught him fleeing the scene. He has been charged with DUI and will likely face this charge in court soon. 

If the driver is found guilty of drunk driving, he could be held criminally responsible for the car accident that killed these four women. In addition, the families of those victims may choose to pursue civil wrongful death charges separate from the criminal charges. The surviving passengers and the limo driver may also want to file personal injury suits against him. No criminal conviction is required for these suits to be successful, but evidence of his intoxicated state would be helpful in New York civil court.
