A major car crash in the Bronx has left five people seriously injured, according to local sources. New York police report that two people also lost their lives in the tragic car accident. So far, the police have not filed criminal charges against anyone involved in the crash.
Apparently, a 28-year-old man was speeding in a luxury sedan on Bronxwood Avenue when the accident occurred. His vehicle struck another car on the morning of June 19, causing a serious crash that injured everyone involved. The man was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
The 29-year-old driver of the other vehicle, a woman, was also taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Two teenagers, both aged 16, were also hospitalized, but their status is considered stable at this time. As of the media report, police have not commented on what they believe to be the cause of the crash.
A car accident of this type makes it difficult to determine the causes of the crash, as it is unclear whether the driver who is believed to be responsible for the accident is in the wrong. It will be up to New York authorities to determine whether the male driver was in fact responsible in a meaningful way for the accident that injured so many people. If it becomes clear his actions were negligent and in some material way contributed to the crash, he could face criminal charges, as well as civil charges from the injured parties in the form of personal injury lawsuits.
