Truck accident leaves New York father and son injured

A recent four-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike has left two people hospitalized and two others with minor injuries. A 61-year old man and his 17-year old son, both from New York, were hospitalized as a result of the accident. The father suffered head wounds and is in critical condition. The son received cuts on his leg and head and is stable. Two other drivers received minor injuries. The news article did not indicate if the fourth driver was injured.

All four vehicles involved were trucks and included a large tractor-trailer carrying a storage container that stopped on the turnpike when the pickup truck in front of it stopped with a flat tire. A truck, driven by the 61-year old man with his son as a passenger, came up behind and hit the tractor-trailer. The storage container came off of the vehicle chassis and was hit by the fourth truck.
